The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation ( http://www.bcbsmafoundation.org/ ) is accepting applications for its 2003 Winter Grants program.
Grants will be awarded in the foundation's Access category through
the following programs: the Innovation Fund for the Uninsured, which provides support for community organizations to develop,
expand, or sustain care models for the uninsured, including outreach, care coordination, and case management; Connecting Consumers
with Care, which grants support to organizations that are enrolling uninsured residents in state health insurance programs
and building the connection between enrollment and care; and Strengthening the Voice for Access, which provides grants to
support policy initiatives across the state that pro- mote the interests of the uninsured, underinsured, and underserved.
The foundation will fund nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations or government agencies with a mission that includes improving access and removing barriers to healthcare for low-income or uninsured Massachusetts residents; organiza-
tions whose programs are based in Massachusetts and serve the residents of the state; organizations with demonstrated experience
with the activities proposed in the funding proposal; organizations with demonstrated experience and commitment to cultural
and linguistic competency in its overall activities and with the program for which funds are sought; organizations that can
provide evidence of consumer involvement in the activities proposed in the proposal; and applicants that agree to the foundation's
financial reporting and program evaluation requirements.
