Brenda_BJC-4.jpgThe prediction is that 74 million “Baby Boomers” will turn 60 this year, an I am one of them. If we use a conservative estimate of 10% to determine how many of these people are LGBTs, that means 740,000 of us will officially enter into the ranks of senior citizens this year. LGBTs who are turning sixty this year are part of the

“Stonewall Generation” and many have lived the majority of their lives out and proud. A large number of us have been active in the struggle for full inclusion and the civil rights movement, and unlike some of our counterparts who are not a part of the “Baby Boomer” generation, who aged during a time when being out was not as much of an option as it is today, my sense is that the LGBT “Boomers” will not age in silence or go back into the closet.
