The 10% Market Share: Understanding the INs and OUTs of
Queer Marketing
Thursday, March 20, 2003 at 7:30PM
Public invited to attend
NEW YORK, NEW YORK—October 24, 2002—On Thursday, March 20,
2003 at 7:30pm, Off Center will present The 10% Market
Share: Understanding the INs and OUTs of Queer Marketing.
This moderated forum will attempt to answer some of the many
questions the LGBT community has about the politics of queer
marketing.
As the importance of the LGBT consumer in the marketplace
continues to grow, how are we affected by the initiatives
set forth by big business in our community? Can we empower
ourselves through the consumption of products targeted to
our sexual orientation?
Among the panelists participating are: Event Moderator and
marketing scholar, Associate Professor Katherine Sender
(University of Pennsylvania), Jake Stafford (Witeck-Combs
Communication and IBM), Todd Evans (Rivendell Marketing),
Dai Min Barclay (Volvo Cars of North America) and Charlene
Cothran, publisher of VENUS Magazine.
All are invited to attend The 10% Market Share. This
event promises to be an exciting and informative talk with
some of the top national advertisers, marketing executives
and media sales professionals delving into the current state
of LGBT marketing, where it's headed in the near future and
the massive impact it has on all of us.
The 10% Market Share: Understanding the INs and OUTs of
Queer Marketing
will take place at the LGBT Community Center located at 208
West 13th Street in New York at 7:30pm. The
suggested donation at the door is $5.
Founded in 2002, Off Center is the LGBT Community Center's
newest cultural program. It focuses on provocative issues
currently affecting the LGBT community globally, nationally
and in New York. Off Center seeks to provide forums to
discuss a variety of ideas, opinions and experiences that
explore the ever-expanding notion of what being LBGT means
today
