A Great Way To Keep Track — Molly’s Med Minder

I thought about this yesterday and today I stumbled upon an article at 24-7 Press Release entitled This Holiday Season Give The Gift Of Molly’s Med Minder – The Perfect Medical Organizer.” What a great idea!!!

I thought about this because getting info on my lab work, diagnosis, etc., has been like pulling hen’s teeth. One doctor gives me little or no information and the other goes over everything with me. Unfortunately, the one offering the most information does not get all of the information from the other doctor. For instance, yesterday I went to see my Rheumy and he had not received my last two labs. What? This made my visit with him yesterday absolutely worthless. All of the questions I had for him could not be answered because he had no labs to work from.

I also realized these guys obviously don’t chat with one another to discuss my care. What a mess. Folks, healthcare reform to me means better collaboration between doctors and computers used to feed info to all of your doctors.

This led me to think about asking for my medical records and creating a booklet for labs, meds, test results, etc. Since I cannot get a straight answer, perhaps I’ll be able to look over the chicken scratch and figure something out for myself. Geez.

This is where Molly’s Med Minder comes into play.

You are responsible for your care, your records, your prescriptions, your tests, and your life.

Molly’s Med Minder is a personal medical organizer which allows you to keep all of your medical records, personal information, appointments, and more in one convenient location. This three-ring binder can be customized to most effectively meet your needs or the needs of someone in your care.

Molly’s Med Minder can help you effectively deal with numerous doctors, doctor offices in multiple locations, and the care of a loved one. For chronically ill patients, travelers, college students, elderly, or loved ones in our care, keeping personal health records organized and easily accessible can be life-saving.

Achieve better health by ensuring that your medical records are complete and all of your most important information is in one place. Help yourself achieve the best health, better diagnosis, and recovery by having your medical history organized in one place – by you.

Order your records, download them if you can and place the crap in a book you can take with you on every appointment. Knowledge is power and I’ve found sometimes asking questions will get you no where fast. But, with information at your fingertips, you will be able to show another doctor what has been done and perhaps get more information.

Okay, anger aside, this is a really good idea. I would love to have all of my medical information at hand so as to see my own progress. Personally, after yesterday’s uneventful doctor’s visit and now knowing these guys don’t talk to one another, I will order my medical records and the binder and will keep my own records. Great idea!!
