This is why the folks in Hollywood prove themselves weird, thus the name Hollyweird. All of these Hollyweird types have taken to the streets in defense of what some would call a Level 2 or 3 sex offender. Like all other sex offenders, Roman Polanski should be monitored and watched to ensure other pre-teen daughters are not denigrated and used for the pleasure of an old man.
When I consider the facts of the case — and I don’t care how many years ago it was — what I see are accusations, a witness statement and a confession to a crime. The crime is this:
Those being the facts of the case, I don’t understand why anyone in Hollyweird can stand and defend this creep. I don’t care who lied on a documentary, hearsay, and for the record, judges are not pansies. Judges are not obligated to accept plea agreements made between attorneys in a case. They are judges and can accept or deny a plea agreement.
Obviously, these Hollyweird types are making a public display of themselves hoping Mr. Polanski will remember them in his next film. They are falling all over themselves trying to be seen, heard and smelled. I wonder if they are willing to leave their 13-year old daughters alone with this guy?
Even more egregious is the statement I read — which I will not link to — of a woman who believes the rape and sodomizing of a young girl was fine because she was a few weeks shy of her 14th birthday, which was the legal age for consensual sex in California. Thank God it is now 18. In spite of this weirdos’ statement, the girl did not have consensual sex with Polanski. She repeatedly said no and she told him she wanted to go home. He kept her against her will and did what he wanted to do in spite of her protests to the contrary.
Polanski, instead of continuing to be the low-life creep he was decades ago, should truly redeem himself by standing before a judge and accepting his fate. Little Mr. “Short Eyes” should willingly return to this country, stop making a spectacle of himself, stop being the worm he’s been all of these years and face the music.
I truly understand his victim’s feelings now because this worm refused to accept the consequences of his actions. I also understand her feelings that the media made her life miserable because the actor in this was a 43-year old successful filmmaker. Anywhere that turd goes, particularly in Hollyweird, flies will surely follow. This has messed up her life because, as is usually the case, the media focused on the “13-year old” victim, not the horrendous actions of the pedophile.
After fleeing the country and then throwing money at his victim, the now 76-year old Polanski believes he should walk scot-free? No. He, like other sex offenders, needs to face the consequences of his actions. If they let him walk, so be it. If not, doing the crime means doing the time. That’s how the law works. After all, he did not allow his victim to flee when she asked to leave and he continued to rape her after she said no. My question is, why should he be treated any differently than he treated his victim?
What those in Hollyweird are doing now is pushing women back to the dark ages when men like Polanski got away with such crimes. Additionally, there are men — some famous, some not — currently serving time in prison for similar crimes. What makes Polanski any different and why should he be treated differently?
His victim — and I’m using that word purposely because she is now a survivor — would like to not have her name slung through the mud every time this nitwit’s name comes up. She would like the violation of her life and name to cease. She is now a wife and mother and every time this sex offender’s name comes up, her name is dragged through the mud with him. If he has any redeeming qualities — as these Hollyweird types seem to think he does — then he should release her from this by being a man — if he can — find some balls — which he seemed to display while raping and sodomizing a 13-year old girl — and drag his tired butt back to the states and face the music. He is not a victim here but he continues to victimize his victim — though she has forgiven him — by not accepting the consequences of his actions. Until he does this, she will never be released; unless, of course, the nitwit should soon die.
My advice to Mr. Polanski is this, bring your moppy head back to the states. Pretend you have some credibility by accepting responsibility for your actions, accept the consequences of your actions and be done with it. As for these Hollyweird types who are falling all over themselves to be seen, heard and smelled as they line up to be in the next Roman Polanski film, get a life. This man committed a horrendous crime against a minor and who knows how many times before or since he has done this. This time he was caught because she told. I don’t care how great his art, his art did not commit the crime, the man did and he needs to face the music.
