Michael Jackson was finally laid to rest yesterday. I missed whatever services there were for him because I have taken to not watching much television these days. I understand there was not much of a service to watch sans something the family allowed and some overhead views by news crews which caused quite a stir from the Jackson family. I honestly don’t know what they expected because, after all, this is Southern California which is the home of Hollywierd. News in California is all about the weird holly.
Finally, Michael is at peace. No one will wonder where his body is and go traipsing through various cemeteries looking for him. I also hope the endless speculation that Michael is still alive will finally die as well. As with everything else, this too was meant to happen and to be honest I am glad he went out in the way he did so as not to become a caricature of himself as an old man.
Unfortunately, for the rest of us, we will know of Michael Jackson’s addiction to pharmaceuticals which, in my humble opinion, was his way of counteracting the effects of other drugs he took for lupus. Since I now know he was on prednisone — could not mistake the bottle of Prednisone in the photos of items seized from his Neverland Ranch and the unmistakable 10mg and pink 20mg pills strewn everywhere — it makes sense he had problems sleeping. He probably had night sweats too. Many want to counteract the hyperactive behavior associated Prednisone by taking Xanax and unfortunately, that’s a no win situation.
In other MJ news, his death has unofficially — as far as I’m concerned — been declared a homicide. If nothing else, it is my hope more attention is focused on doctors who over prescribe drugs to their patients for profit. There is no incentive in medicine to make you well. In fact, as with any business with a chart of accounts every time you see a doctor there is a charge for every service provided. If the doctor said no to your outrageous request, there would be no charge, no money, no income. Fortunately, not all doctors are like that but in MJ’s case, many of the doctors he involved himself with were just as complicit as he in the final outcome. They all had a hand in helping to kill him.
MJ no longer has to worry about pain and fatigue, fibromyalgia, sleeplessness, discoid lupus and failed plastic surgery, having a wig glued to his head because of scaring on his scalp, or trying to be perfect in an imperfect world.
So, in consideration of my favorite part of the Catholic Mass I offer this:
Domine Jesu Christe, qui dixisti Apostolis tuis: Pacem relinquo vobis, pacem meam do vobis: ne respicias peccata mea, sed fidem Ecclesiae tuae: eamque secundum voluntatem coadunare digneris: qui vivis et regnas Deus, per omnia saecula saeculorum. Amen.
Or
O Lord Jesus Christ, who saidst to thine Apostles, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: regard not my sins, but the faith of thy Church: and vouchsafe to grant her peace and unity according to thy will: Who livest and reignest God, throughout all ages; world without end. Amen.
Peace Be With You . . .so let it be done.
Dominus vobiscum

May he rest in peace.
It amazes me that so many people do not actually know how he looked like in his last years. The media and tabloids showed unflattering pictures but the reality is, he looked really great. In April this year he had curls and looked like he did in 1997 but older.
