Unfortunately, I was not fortunate enough to cover a wedding as nice as the one in the following video. The weddings I covered as a photographer were mostly boring, drab, folks showed up late, some were drunk, the reception was full-o-drama and for the most part, by the time I delivered the wedding proofs to the bride, groom and family, the couple were moving closer to divorce court.
Of the many weddings I shot, a handful of couples actually made it past the two year mark. One couple did not make it six months. And you wonder why I’m cynical. No, never been married and quite frankly, I’m not interested thank you.
The following video features the wedding party of Kevin and Jill Heinz of Minnesota. The wedding party first danced their way down the aisle, followed by the groom somersaulting from within the middle of the group of dancers and the song chosen was Chris Brown’s “Forever.” After the wedding party and groom danced their way to the alter to perform a slow-mo of “get into position”, the bride made her dancing debut. What fun.
When the video hit YouTube, it went viral becoming one of the most watched videos and on July 24, 2009, the couple were guests on the Today Show. Last night, I saw the video for the first time on Anderson Cooper’s 360 and just fell in love with this couple. I only hope their fun during the wedding lasts forever — or until death do us part — because this was such a fun way to start a life together.
Apparently, the bride, groom and the wedding party performers will appear live on the Today Show on July 25, 2009 (tomorrow I guess) to perform once again.
