I so enjoyed watching Walter Cronkite.   As a kid, I wanted to be like him when I grew up.  It didn’t happen but I still enjoyed his matter of fact, just the facts reporting.  You didn’t hear a lot of opinion from Walter, if you heard any at all, just the news, fair and balanced.  What a far cry from the opinionated bobble heads we have today.

Oh well, times change I guess and opinion is now what the people want.  For me, I still long for the days of unbiased news reporting.  Research it, give me the good and the bad and don’t sugarcoat it.  Yep, I like my news straight, no chaser and that’s what Walter did.  Just as everyone has a nose, ears, eyes or a bum, we are all capable of coming to our own conclusions and opinions.  Walter gave us the fuel to get there.  Goodbye old friend and yes, that’s the way it is.
